YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 7, 2022) – Sailors with U.S. Naval Special Warfare and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Special Boarding Unit practice visit, board, search, and seizure techniques Nov. 7 as part of Malabar 2022. Malabar 2022 is a Japan-led, surface, air, and subsurface multi-lateral field training exercise with the Indian Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, Royal Australian Navy, and U.S. Navy as participants. Malabar 2022 enhances interoperability between Australian, Indian, Japanese and U.S. maritime forces, strengthening the critical partnerships, and demonstrates U.S. naval presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
