Rear Adm. Andy Schreiner
Rear Adm. Andy Schreiner is a native of Spearfish, South Dakota. He earned his commission in 1995 after graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering on a Navy ROTC scholarship. He completed Joint Professional Education through the Naval War College and National Defense University.
Schreiner has served in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His active-duty sea tours include SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One, SEAL Team Two, and Special Boat Team
22. Since the launch of his second career as a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Schreiner has been mobilized four times; twice to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Arabian Peninsula for Operation Iraqi Freedom, once to East Africa’s Combined
Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa serving as deputy director, Future Operations Division, and finally as executive assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
Command tours include Navy Reserve (NR) SEAL Unit 17, NR Special Operations Command Korea, NR United States Special Operations Command, and NR United States Northern Command, with staff tours at NR Special Operations Command North and NR Naval Special Warfare Task Unit BRAVO.
His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, as well as various unit and campaign medals.
