Solomon ‘Sol’ Atkinson - seen here serving as his community's Grand Marshal in 2017, was born in Metlakatla, Alaska in 1930 and, as a Ts’msyen (Tsimshian) Native American he lived a purposeful life defined by both his Native American heritage and his service as a U.S. Navy SEAL.
